Susan Reynolds click here for link to 'teachers'

This 2 hour introduction to Hatha Vinyasa Yoga is open to all ability levels and will appeal to Hatha Yoga students and Ashtanga Yoga students.

The Hatha Vinyasa class involves a moderately energetic flow of exercises and postures creating a state of stillness and harmony between body and mind. The class uses physical movement to create mental stillness and is essentially a 'moving meditation', the aim being to energise the body and calm the mind.

The class begins with invigorating breathing techniques (Pranayama) followed by a flow of Sun Salutations to generate heat before moving on to various sequences of the traditional yoga postures (Asanas). There is a strong focus on the use of the breath to both encourage flowing from one posture to another and to centre the mind. The class will end with a short guided relaxation (Yoga Nidra) to bring an extreme calmness, quietness and clarity.

A great opportunity to try out the Hatha Vinyasa Yoga class and also a chance to refine and deepen your personal yoga practice!

With HypnoBirthing®, you'll discover that severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment of labour. You'll learn how to release the fears and anxieties you may currently have about giving birth, and how to overcome previous traumatic births. HypnoBirthing® lets you discover and experience the joy and magic of birth. Most importantly, you'll learn how to put yourself back in control of your birth - rather than turning your birthing experience over to your doctor or midwife.

In short, HypnoBirthing® allows you to experience birth in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear and tension that prevents the birthing muscles of your body from functioning as Nature intended them to.

The programme is a 12.5 hour course split into 4 x 3 hour classes and is designed for ladies and their birthing partners and is an ideal complement to our prenatal yoga classes and birth preparation workshop.

Please contact us if you would like to join a course, as additional courses will be arranged if necessary. JAN/FEB dates will be released shortly, please contact us to be informed of these dates.

Helen Briggs

Prana is “life force energy” and yama is “control or mastery”. Breathing techniques are important within Yoga not only for improving the supply of oxygen to the body and also for strengthening the lungs, but the way we breath also has a direct effect on how we feel emotionally and physically, and on our state of mind.

Proper breathing increases energy, vitality and mental clarity, cleanses the lungs and eliminates toxins from the body. Pranayama serves as an important bridge between the outward, active practices of yoga--like asana--and the internal, surrendering practices that lead us into deeper states of meditation.

In this workshop we will look at how breathing affects your mood and energy levels and learn several different breathing techniques, leaving you feeling calm, rejuvenated, and uplifted.
