Hatha Vinyasa Yoga back to top
The Hatha Vinyasa Class involves a moderately energetic flow of exercises and postures creating a state of stillness and harmony between body and mind. The class uses physical movement to create mental stillness and is essentially a 'moving meditation', the aim being to energise the body and calm the mind.
The class begins with some gentle opening and conditioning exercises followed by a flow of Sun Salutations to generate heat before moving on to various sequences of the traditional yoga postures (Asanas). There is a strong focus on the use of the breath and breathing techniques (Pranayama) to both encourage flowing from one posture to another and to centre the mind.
The emphasis is on a non competitive individual yoga practice where students are encouraged to explore their own boundaries and progress at their own unique pace.
Ashtanga Yoga back to top
Ashtanga yoga is an energetic flowing form of yoga known as vinyasa. Vinyasa links the breath with motion; specific inhales and exhales fluidly link entering into & exiting out of the postures.

Following on from the beginners course, the Level 1 class will introduce the standing postures and some of the seated postures in the Ashtanga Primary Series. This class will also prepare and inspire you for Ashtanga Mysore practice or Ashtanga Full talk-thru.
Mysore classes are a beautiful way of practicing yoga in a safe and comfortable environment and is suitable for students of any level. Mysore Style Yoga is traditionally how Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is taught in India today. The class is not led by the teacher, the students pracice at their own pace and the teacher moves around the room giving each individual tuition/modification's if required. This class teaches you to trust in your yoga practice, learn, and discipline yourself to deepen your yoga practice in a way you will move forward, quite quickly, into more advanced postures.
Ashtanga Full talk-thru is a led class of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series. Students are advised to have some knowledge of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. This class is building on stamina and strength in yoga asanas and finding fluidity in your yoga practice so it becomes a moving meditation.
